Bangladesh Bank is going to arrange a banking fair next month in order to create awareness among people on banking and financial issues and services. The five-day fair will begin from November 24 at Bangla Academy.
Commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions will help the central bank organise the country’s first banking fair, said Biru Paksha Paul, Chief Economist of Bangladesh Bank, in a press conference on Wednesday at the central bank.
“The fair will help young people know different services, product of banks, and advantage of information technologies for finance which is very important for sustainable growth,” he said.
Theme slogan of the banking fair is “To build a banking nation”. All the 56 banks and other financial institutions will set up their stalls. The objectives of the fair are to raise public awareness about banking product and services, to expand the financial literacy program of Bangladesh Bank at national level, to advertise and extend the banking sector, its products, and services, to present the banks as service providers to the customers, to encourage the customers optimizing the usage of technology in the banking sector, to ensure broadened financial inclusion, to push the young and the youth towards banking services, to extend the banking services and products to the mass people’s door step.
