Bank official Sajal Roy Boro, Moghbazar, reportedly received death threat for refusing to pay Tk 20 lakh as extortion.
One Barekulla sent a letter to the banker saying that he would be killed if he refused to pay the extortion amount regularly.
Later, a phone call detailed him as to how the amount would be paid.
In view of threat, Sajal Roy filed a general diary last week, Moinul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station confirmed it.
Anath Mitra, Sub-Inspector and In-charge of the GD, said police are working to trace the calls.
