The country’s third largest mobile phone operator Banglalink is going to offer some special packages for the university teachers and students to support them in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.
University Grants Commission (UGC) and Banglalink signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard on Monday in a virtual meeting, said a UGC press release.
UGC Secretary (Additional charge) Dr Ferdous Zaman and Director of Banglalink Enterprise Business Rubaiyat A. Tanzeen signed the MoU on behalf of their organisations.
Students and teachers will get the opportunity to use 10GB, 15GB and 30GB date packs for a month with a low cost for BdREN Zoom, said the press release.
UGC member Mohammad Alamgir, Dr Md Sazzad Hossen, Prof Dr Biswajit Chandra, Prof Dr Md Abu Taher, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman, among others, addressed the virtual meeting with UGC Chairman Professor Kazi Shahidullah in the chair.
Mobile operators Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk are providing a cheap data package for university teachers and students.
