Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi national was shot to death by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Burimari border point in Patgram upazila early Thursday.
The deceased identified as Antar Islam,27, son of Aminul Islam, a resident of Burimari Railway Colony Para of the upazila, was a cattle trader by profession.
Commanding Officer of BGB-15 Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Bazlur Rahman Hayati said the BSF members from Changrabandha camp in Kuchbihar of West Bengal opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders, including Antar, when he along with other associates were returning to the country through the pillar No-843 with cattle in the dead of night, leaving Antar dead on the spot. Other associates of Antar, however, escaped from the BSF firing. BGB sent a letter to BSF protesting the incident and holding a flag meeting, the CO Bazlur added.
