Bangladeshi origin Farah Ahmad appointed as the Chief of Staff in the US Agriculture Department.
Apart from Ahmad, five others have been appointed to the US Department of Agriculture at the same time, according to a press release issued on 21 January.
Ahmad served as the senior programme coordinator in the Office of Consumer Education and a senior advisor to the chief operating officer at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

on the Community and Economic Development team in the Rural Business Cooperative Service at USDA and senior policy analyst at Center for American Progress.
She holds a master’s from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
Farah Ahmad is the daughter of Dr Matlub Ahmad and mother Dr Ferdous Ahmad. Both of them are professors at a university in the US.
