BSS, Dhaka :A group of three Bangladeshi children left Dhaka on Friday for Russian to participate in the International Children Festival-NucKids 2016. The festival will take place in different cities of Russia including St. Petersburg and Moscow from July 10 to August 21, said a press release. Russia’s State Nuclear Energy Corporation – ROSATOM is the main host of the NucKids 2016, where 70 children from 7 countries including Bangladesh, Russia, Turkey, Belarus, Czech Republic, Vietnam and Hungary are participating in the programme. Welcoming the participants, Sergei Novikov, Director Communication Department of ROSATOM said, “We are building nuclear power plants in many countries and which has become a basis for bilateral cooperation for several decades.Such projects provide an opportunity for strong international relations not only at economic, but also at cultural level. Nuclear Kids project allows kids from different countries of the world not only to bring their talent to light but also build real friendship among them. We are glad that this year, talented Bangladeshi kids are also joining our Nuclear Kids team.” During the festival, children will take part in different cultural activities and several grand concerts in different cities of Russia.Professional Russian artistes will train and prepare the children for the concerts.ROSATOM has been organizing the NucKids festival since 2009 for the children of those countries in which Russia has implemented or in the process of implementing the nuclear power projects. This year Syed Kaysan Faraj of Dhaka, Atia Sunjeda Oishy of Rajshahi and Sharmili Noshin of Bagerhat are attending the festival from Bangladesh.
