Bangladeshi Endocrinolo-gist’s book published

Scholars’ Press, a German-based renowned international publishing groups, published a book of research works on diabetes conducted by a Bangladeshi endocrinologist and researcher, Dr Shahjada Selim.
Titled with “Factors of Poor Glycemic Control in Type 2 Diabetes”, the book was co-authored by Diabetes specialist and Head of the Department of Endocrinology at BIRDEM General Hospital Professor Prof Md Faruque Pathan and Dr Selim, an Assistant Professor of Endocrinology Department at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
The world’s largest internet-based retailer of books ‘Amazon.com’ has fixed 45.9 Euro as price of the book which is the first such work of Dr Selim.
“There are a large number of diabetics in Bangladesh likewise other countries. We are, all, living with risk of diabetes. Unfortunately the ratio of diabetes control in Bangladesh is 18.8 percent which is lowest in the world,” Dr Selim.
The endocrinologist said the people with diabetes in Bangladesh are not conscious enough of controlling the diseases appropriately while there is lack of knowledge among people here to maintain health tips to keep them away from it.
