Bangladesh National Cricket team will face Zimbabwe National Cricket team today in the first One Day International (ODI) match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, the port city of the country. The day/night affair begins at 1.30 pm BST (Bangladesh Standard Time). G TV, a private satellite channel will telecast the match live from the stadium.
Motivated Bangladesh whitewashed Zimbabwe by 3-0 in the three-match Test series recently.
Before today’s encounter, Bangladesh faced Zimbabwe in 59 ODI matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered 31 victories while Zimbabwe composed 28 wins.
It is noteworthy that BCB XI defeated the visiting Zimbabwe by 88 runs in their lone practice one-dayer match at the same venue on Wednesday last.
Bangladesh will take on Zimbabwe in the second ODI at the same venue on November 23.
The Tigers will meet Zimbabwe in the three ODI matches at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on November 26, 28 and December 1.
Bangladesh team and Zimbabwe team took part at their respective practice session in Chittagong on Thursday.
Right-arm-pace bowler Shafiul Islam has been included in Bangladesh squad for the first two ODI matches.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza said, “This is the time to comeback especially before the World Cup, so we are all focused. We won the Test series very well. This will influence the whole team because we haven’t played any bad game in the series.”
