Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team want to make memorable 13th South Asian (SA) Games. This is for the first time Cricket Competition for Women is included in SA Games.
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team left the city for Nepal on Friday to take part in Women’s Cricket Competition in SA Games.
Before leaving the country prolific cricketer Jahanara Alam said to the newsmen, ” We get to play in the SA Games for the first time. We want to make memorable the 13th SA Games. I hope we shall return home after securing gold in the Cricket Competition. We shall try to give our best performance.”
The Cricket Competition for Women in SA Games will be hald at Kathmandu and Pokhra in Nepal from December 1 to December 10.
The Cricket Competition will be held on T20 format. A total of seven teams splitting into two groups will take part in the cricket meet. Bangladesh, Pakistan and Maldives are in Group-B, while hosts Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan are in Group-A.
Bangladesh will take on Maldives on December 2 and will face Pakistan on December 5.
Top two teams from each group will get tickets of the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the final.
Bangladesh Women’s team: Salma Khaun (Captain), Nigar Sultana, Jahanara Alam, Ayesha Rahman, Fargana Haque, Murshida Khatun, Sanjida Islam, Shabnam Mostari, Fahima Khatun, Shamima Sultana, Nahida Akter, Khadiza-Tul-Kubra, Ritu Moni, Puja Chakravarti and Rabea.
