Bangladesh National Women Cricket Team beat Zimbabwe Women in the 1st Trophy Semi-Final of the ICC Women`s World Twenty20 Qualifier and sealed their spot in the next year`s ICC Women`s World Twenty20 to be held in India. The Bangladesh side, led by Jahanara Alam, on Thursday beat Zimbabwe by 31 runs at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok of Thailand to reach the final of the tournament. Batting first, Bangladesh Women scored 89 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Zimbabwe Women were bowled out for 58 in 19.1 overs. Fargana Hoque hit a run-a-ball 43 with 4 boundaries while Sharmin Akhter added 22 more for Bangladesh. Rumana Ahmed claimed 4 just for 8 runs while Fahima Khatun and Shaila Sharmin 2 each for 12 and 13 respectively to bowled the Zimbabweans out for only 58 runs. Bangladesh Women will face either Ireland or Scotland Women in the Trophy Final of the tournament on Saturday. Bangladesh will join with the top eight teams from the 2014 ICC Women`s World Twenty20 to compete in the next year`s tournament. Last year, Bangladesh played in the tournament for the first time which was hosted by them. Bangladesh won only one match in the group stage and became ninth in the tournament. –risingbd.com
