Bangladesh Women finish Group-A runners-up losing to Nepal Women

Bangladesh National Women’s Football team finished Group-A runners-up losing to host Nepal National Women’s Football team by 0-3 goals in the SAFF Women’s Championship held on Saturday at Shahid Rangasala Stadium in Biratnagar, Nepal.
The Nepalese’ women’s clearly dominated the entire proceeding and took a 3-0 goal lead at the breather and they maintained the lead till the final whistle.
In the day’s match, Sabitra Bhandari and Manjali Yonjan scored one goal apiece for Nepal while Masura Pravin of Bangladesh scored an own post in the very 6th minute.
Nepal missed two goal-scoring chances before the opening goal. Sabitra Bhandari and Niru Thapa wasted one vs one. Bangladesh however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the match in the second proceeding creating some scoring chances but failed to convert any of those into a goal.
Earlier, both Bangladesh and Nepal have confirmed their semi-final spot after winning their respective group opening matches against Bhutan.
The girls’ in red and green won their first match by 2-0 margin while Nepal won by 3-0 goals.
Bangladesh have been pitted in Group-A along with hosts Nepal and Bhutan while the Group-B consists with defending champions India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
After the group phase matches, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals scheduled to be held on March 20 while the final is slated on March 22.
