Bangladesh Weightlifting team will leave the city for Qatar today to take part in the 16th Youth Women’s, 22nd Junior Women’s Asian Weightlifting Championship and Qatar 2nd International Cup scheduled to be held in Qatar.
Johra Akhter Reshma (44 kg) and Mabia Akhter Shimanto (63 kg) will take part in the 16th Youth Women’s, 22nd Junior Women’s Asian Weightlifting Championship. Trainer of National Sports Council Shahria Sultana Suchi will be with them as the coach. Molla Sabira Sultana (53 kg), one of the best woman weightlifter of the country will participate in Qatar 2nd International Cup. Kajol Datta will be with her as the coach.
President of Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation (BWF) Manjur Kader Quraishi is the Team Leader while General Secretary of BWF Wing Commander (Retd) Mohiuddin Ahmed is invited to act as Technical Official and former weightlifter Khurshida Khatun Khushi will go Qatar with the team as the referee.
