A marvelous century by Aminul Islam guided Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team to take the upper hand when they declared their first innings making 400 for the loss of eight wickets against Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Under-17 Cricket team on the second day of the three-dayer match at the BKSP Ground in Savar on Thursday.
In reply, CAB Under-17 Cricket team scored 83 for the loss of four wickets before the bails were drawn for the second day.
Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team led by 317 runs in the first innings against their counterpart.
Resuming with the over-night score of 264 for the loss of four wickets Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team added more 136 runs before they declared their first innings.
Aminul Islam and Mahmudul Hasan resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 77 and 5 runs respectively.
But Mahmudul Hasan could added more 6 runs on the second day as he was run out by Kaushik Maity when the hosts’ total was 284 for the loss of five wickets.
Then Aminul Islam and Mortaza Ahmed contributed worthy 75 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Aminul Islam was bowled out byTribrit Roy when Bangladesh’s score was 359 for the loss of six wickets.
Aminul Islam notched up a gritty 122. His 262-ball knock was belted with 17 fours.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mortaza Ahmed remained unbeaten with 55. His 83-ball innings was laced with six fours.
Rohit Mandal of CAB Under-17 Cricket team was his team’s most successful bowler. He completed his spell as 28-11-79-3.
Later, CAB Under-17 Cricket team made a disastrous start as they lost their early two wickets for just five runs.
Then SK Biswas and Arnab Bhattacharjee added together 41 runs in the third wicket stand before SK Biswas was caught by Sharif Islam off Sahadat Ridoy when CAB Under-17 Cricket team’s score was 46 for the loss of three wickets.
Sahadat Ridoy struck again as Souvanik Debnath was trapped leg before wicket by Ridoy for just one run when the tourists’ total was 58 for the loss of four wickets.
Arnab Bhattacharjee remained undefeated with 66. His 137-ball innings was laced with 12 fours.
Indrajit Orang remained unbeaten with naught.
Sahadat Ridoy bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 14 runs while Sharif Islam and Mukidul Islam took one wicket each for 14 and 31 runs respectively.
