Bangladesh U-16 Women’s National Football team off to Thailand

Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s National Football team left the city on Friday for Thailand to take part in the AFC Under-16 Women’s Championship scheduled to be held in Thailand from September 10 to September 23. Walton Group has sponsored the Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s National Football team.
A total of eight teams dividing into two groups will take part in the gala football meet.
Bangladesh, North Korea, Japan, Australia have been billed in Group-B, while Thailand, China, South Korea, Laos have been placed in Group-A.
Bangladesh will face North Korea on September 11, meet Japan on September 14, take on Australia on September 17.
The champions of the Group-A will face the runners-up of the Group-B in the first semi-final on September 20, while the champions of the Group-B will meet the runners-up of the Group-A in the second semi-final on the same day.
The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on September 23.
The losers of the two semi-finals will meet each other in the third-place deciding match on the same day.
The champions, the runners-up and the third-place achiever team will qualify for the upcoming Women’s World Cup Under-17 Football Championship.
The players are: Nazma, Mahmuda, Shamsun Nahar, Sheuli Azim, Maria Mahda (Vice-Captain), Tahura, Sanjida, Marzia, Akhi, Monika, Anuching Marma, Anai, Ratna, Shawpna, Sultana, Mousumi, Krishna Rani (Captain), Mashura, Rajia, Neela, Roksana, Nargis, Rupa.
The officials are: Md Amirul Islam Babu (Head of Delegation), Paul Thomas Smalley (Technical & Strategic Director), Zakir Hossain Chowdhury (Team Manager), Golam Rabbani Choton (Head Coach), Mahbubur Rahman Litu (Assistant Coach), Sabina Khatun (Assistant Coach), Dr Mahzabin Rahman Shaoli (Team Physician), Hasan Mahmud (Media Manager), Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu (Team Official).
