Bangladesh turned into militants’ haven in BNP’s regime: Hasan

Urging BNP to do politics of welfare for the mass people, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday said the country had turned into a safe haven of militants and terrorists during the BNP regime.
“Ziaur Rahman grabbed the power with arms and his wife Begum Khaleda Zia established the rule of terror and militancy during her 10 years in power,” he told a press briefing at his Secretariat office here. The minister said many leaders joined BNP from other parties to enjoy leftover of power and its’ founder Ziaur Rahman had picked them. Dr Hasan said BNP could not give good governance to the nation rather the country had turned into a safe haven of militants and terrorists. The country became champion in corruption for five times during their regime, he added. The minister said BNP, as an opposition party, did politics based on militancy and terrorism in the last 10 and a half years which is really sad.
He said BNP killed former finance minister of Awami League Shah SM Kibria and AL lawmaker Ahsanullah Master by carrying out attacks on public rallies in the brought daylight.
