Bangladesh will play three FIFA friendly football matches in Kyrgyzstan in September. The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will send Bangladesh National Football team in Kyrgyzstan to play three FIFA friendly football matches against three different teams. Bangladesh will play against Palestine on September 5, the Red-and-Green outfit will take on Kyrgyzstan on September 7, Bangladesh will face Kyrgyzstan Under-23 Football team on September 9.
After returning to Dhaka, Bangladesh Football team will take preparation under Head Coach Jamie Day for the SAFF Championship, which is scheduled to be held at Male, the capital city of Maldives from October 1 to October 13. A total of five teams will take part in the SAFF Championship, the most prestigious football competition of this region. The first phase of SAFF Championship will be held on Single League basis. Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives will compete in the SAFF Championship. Top two teams will get tickets of the final. The winner of the final will be the champions of the football competition.
Pakistan cannot participate in the SAFF Championship as Pakistan have been banned by FIFA, the highest governing body of world football. Meanwhile, Bhutan will not compete in SAFF Championship as Bhutan government did not give permission to Bhutan Football team to participate in SAFF Championship due to coronavirus outbreak.
