Bangladesh to host Central Asia Zone Volleyball Qualifiers in May

Bangladesh will host the Central Asia Zone Men’s Volleyball Qualifiers on May 23-28 at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur.
Nine countries — Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and hosts Bangladesh — will compete in the qualifying round of Asian Men’s Volleyball Championship.
The 16-team final round of the prestigious Asian Volleyball Championship will be held in Iran from July 31 to August 8.
Ten Asian nations — Iran, India, Kazakhstan, China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, Lebanon and Qatar – have already qualified for the final round of the meet as per ranking of the previous meet.
The remaining six teams will join the 16-team meet from six Asian Zones.
Bangladesh Volleyball Federation has already started training camp with 16 players for the Asian Volleyball qualifiers and as well as for the ensuing Indo-Bangla Games to be held in Dhaka in the 2nd week of May.
