FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Bangladesh take on Qatar today

Motivated Bangladesh will take on their stronger opponents Qatar in their away match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2022 and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers 2023 at Doha, the capital city of Qatar today. The match kicks-off at 10.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Earlier, Bangladesh lost to Qatar by two goals to nil in their home match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. It will be tough task for Bangladesh as according to the latest FIFA ranking of Qatar is now 59th, while Bangladesh’s FIFA ranking is now 184th.
Bangladesh showed a respectable performance against India as they settled for a 1-1 draw with the hosts at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata, the former capital city of India. It may be mentioned that Bangladesh had a 1-0 lead in that match before 88th minute.
Bangladesh lost to Afghanistan by a solitary goal in their away match.
The red-and-green outfit suffered a 1-4 defeat to Oman in their away match.
Later, the home matches of Bangladesh were postponed due to coronavirus outbreak.
Before taking part in the away match, Bangladesh and Nepal took part in the two-match Bangabandhu FIFA International Friendly Football series. Bangladesh defeated Nepal by two goals to nil in the first match in the country’s prime venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on November 13, while Bangladesh played a goalless draw with Nepal in the second match at the same venue on November 17. By virtue of the result of the series, Bangladesh improved their FIFA ranking to 184th position from 187th position.
Meanwhile, Head Coach of Bangladesh team Jamie Day joined his boys on Wednesday last to inspire his disciples. Day will stay at the dug out, which give Bangladesh team inspiration.
