FIFA Friendly: Bangladesh take on Bhutan today

The Bangladesh national football team will take on Bhutan in their first of the two FIFA International Friendly match scheduled to be held today (Sunday) at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
State-owned Bangladesh Television and private satellite channel Bangla TV will telecast the match live while Bangladesh Betar will provide live commentary of the match that kicks off at 7 pm.
Ahead of the first match, a pre-match press conference was held on Saturday at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).
Bangladesh team’s skipper Jamal Bhuiyan said they want to win the two preparation matches against Bhutan ahead of their two big matches of the World Cup qualifiers against Qatar and India.
Jamal said they need to score against Bhutan as they will have to apply different tactics against Qatar and India, the score must boost their confidence level.
Team’s head coach Jamie Day, who was present at the press conference, informed about their preparation for the two friendly matches.
The English-born Bangladesh coach said they want to win the two practice matches against Bhutan as it’s a perfect place for the boys to make them ready ahead of the two big matches.
On the other hand, Bhutan team’s head coach Pema said his team comprised mostly with promising and young players and the boys are ready to give their hundred percent to win the match against Bangladesh.
He said he is mainly focusing to make the U-23 team for the upcoming SA Games as the coach have a plan to pick some players for the U-23 squad.
Commenting about Bangladesh, Pema said Bangladesh are very good side comprised with most of young and talented players.
Bhutan’s skipper Chencho Gyltshen also expressed his high hope on winning the match against Bangladesh.
The confident Bhutan’s skipper said most of the players of his team are new and energetic and his boys would play good football against Bangladesh.
The second practice match between the two sides will be held on September 3 at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh will host Qatar in Dhaka on October 10 before travelling to Kolkata to play against India on October 15. Bangladesh lost their first match of the qualifying campaign by 1-0 goal against Afghanistan earlier this month.
