Bangladesh will take on Bhutan in the opening match of the South Asian (SA) Region Basketball Qualifiers of the Dhaka Bank FIBA Asia Champions Cup at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium in the city today. The match begins at 2.30 pm. In the day’s other match, Maldives will face Nepal at 4.30 pm at the same venue.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder will inaugurate the basketball meet as the chief guest, while Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza will be with him as the special guest.
Hosts Bangladesh, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan are taking part in the Qualifiers.
