Bangladesh suffer defeat to Pakistan in ACC Asia Cup

Poor bating display by Bangladesh allowed Pakistan to post a massive nine-wicket victory in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup held on Wednesday at Asian Institute of Technology ground in Bangkok.
Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh faces serious batting debacle and posted their ever lowest T20 total of 44 in 15.3 overs. The procession of wickets failing began from the third over. Pakistan bowlers threatened early inroad on Bangladesh’s top order in no time, and grabbed
three wickets inside four overs, leaving Bangladesh in deep trouble.
The highest partnership in Bangladesh’s innings came during the tenth-wicket stand of 17 in two overs. Jahanara Alam was the only batsman for Bangladesh side able to reach the double figure.
Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof used six bowlers today, and none of them went wicket-less during Bangladesh’s batting debacle. Sana Mir bowled three overs, bagged three conceding only five runs while Aiman Anwar bagged two scalps for nine runs in four overs.
Chasing 45 for victory, Pakistan hardly had to sweat as they registered a cakewalk victory in 9.5 overs for the loss of one wicket. After the departure of opener Ayesha Zafar early, Javeria Khan (26) and Iram Javed (17) completed the formality to remain unbeaten till the end of Pakistan innings.
Bangladesh are now in third position of the points table with two wins from three matches. Their next match will be held against Sri Lanka on Saturday (December 3) at Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok.
Earlier, Bangladesh beat host Thailand by 35 runs in their tournament opening match and defeated Nepal by 92 runs in their second match.
