Bangladesh is projecting its impressive growth and advancements in various sectors, including the defence, in the 13th International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul, a major city of Turkey.
Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim inaugurated the fair attended by some 781 companies representing 53 countries. The fair that began on Tuesday will continue till May 12.
Bangladesh’s participation in this important fair will certainly brighten the country’s image and profile in Turkey in particular and in the world at large, according to a message UNB received from Istanbul.
Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara and Bangladesh Consulate General in Istanbul have made a visible presence in the event by securing a designated space for setting up a pavilion in the fair.
A delegation from Bangladesh, led by Major General Md Masud Razzak, is currently visiting Turkey in this regard. Alongside displaying latest equipment, technologies and innovations of the global leading companies in the defence, security and maritime sector, the fair authorities have allocated spaces to selected embassies and consulates to introduce and promote their respective countries.
Bangladesh missions in Turkey secured the opportunity following successful negotiations with the authorities concerned, said the release. The Bangladesh stall has been decorated with aesthetic photo graphics showcasing the country’s glorious history of independence and richness of its cultural heritage.
Video documentaries are being played highlighting Bangladesh’s strengths, achievements and progress, especially in the socio-economic and defence fields.
