Bangladesh share lead in World Chess Olympiad

Bangladesh are sharing lead in the points table with maximum 4 points after the 2nd round matches along with 40 other teams in the open section of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad now being held at Sports Place in Batumi in Georgia.
In the 2nd round games in open section held on Tuesday, Bangladesh beat International Braille Chess Association (IBCA) by 4-0 game points.
GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib, GM Ziaur Rahman, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman and GM Enamul Hossain Razib of Bangladesh won their respective games accordingly against FM Babarykin Stanislav (Rating-2393), IM Meshkov Yuri (Rating-2313), CM Grigorchuk Sergey A (Rating-2288) and Palacios Perez Manuel (Rating-2151) of IBCA.
In the women’s section, Bangladesh women’s team lost to 15-seeded strong team Spain by 1.5-2.5 games points. WIM Rani Hamid won against WIM Hernandez Estevez Yudania (Rating-2192) of Spain and WFM Tanima Parveen (Rating-2022) drew with 2329 rated FM Garcia Martin Marta of Spain, WIM Shamima Akter Liza (rating-2152) lost to IM Vega Gutierrez Sabrina (rating-2405) of Spain and WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin (rating-1974) lost to WGM Calzetta Ruiz Monicatheir (rating-2235) of Spain. WIM Liza and WFM Shirin both have better position once a time in their games. Bangladesh women’s team earned 2 points after 2nd round.
The 3rd round games in open section was going on with Bangladesh playing against Vietnam. The women’s team played against Portugal when the last report came.
