Bangladesh reported more 37 deaths and 3,240 infections

Bangladesh registered 3,240 more infections and 37 death of coronavirus in a span of 24 hours.
“With this, the death toll now runs to 1,425 and the total number of cases reached to 108,775,” Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration) of DGHS, said in a regular press briefing in Dhaka.
She said that another 1,048 COVID-19 patients recovered at homes and in hospitals in the same span, raising the total number of recoveries to 43,993.
She said that the recovery rate from the virus currently stands at 40.44 percent and the mortality rate is 1.31 percent.
The DGHS official said that total 14,031 samples were tested at 61 authorised laboratories in the country with 23.09 percent returning positive results.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus infection cases on March 8 and registered its first death from the virus on March 18.
