Bangladesh Police, DIU jointly organize meeting on anti-militancy

Bangladesh Police and Daffodil International University (DIU) jointly organized a view exchange program on ‘anti-militancy campaign’ on Tuesday at DIU Auditorium.
Prof Dr Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the program while Biplab Kumar Sarker, Deputy Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Tejgaon Division) was the keynote speaker of the program.
Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, Prof Dr Engineer AKM Fazalul Haque, Registrar, Mohammed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) of DIU and Muhammad Habibun NABI Anisur Rashid, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Tejgaon Zone), Sattayki Kabiraj Jhulon, Assistant Commissioner (Tejgaon Zone) and GG Bishwas, Officer-in Charge of Sher-e Banglanagar Thana of Dhaka Metropolitan Police. The program was moderated by Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director (Student Affairs) of DIU. A large number of students and members of different clubs of the university attended the program organized by the university administration and associated by the Directorate of Student Affairs.
Deputy Commissioner Biplab Kumar Sarkar said, Bangladesh Police is enough to uproot the militancy from Bangladesh, but in this regard, mass people’s cooperation is a must. Militancy must be uprooted from the soil of Bangladesh if 1, 70,000 member of Bangladesh Police works with dedication along with the cooperation of mass people.
He also said, due to some evil deeds by a group of people of Bangladesh Police, the image and reputation of Bangladesh Police is destroying and admitting this truth, Bangladesh Police is the only organization in Bangladesh who came forward to rectify those members and we are continuously trying to rectify and motivate those members. We are also promoting and rewarding those who are doing well in the department, he added.
Replying to a question of a student regarding Bachelors Mess residence, Biplab Kumar Sarker said, Dhaka Metropolitan police have urged the home owners only to keep the identity and records filling the prescribed form by the renters only. If any owner of the house harasses any renter in this regard, he urged the victim just to call or inform DMP and he assured to provide all sorts of cooperation.
He wished students and teachers will prevent militancy and terrorism and urged the guardians to take care of their children so that they can’t be involved in such type of militant activities. He advised the student’s- teachers and guardians to be more friendly and interactive.
DIU VC Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam said, from the very beginning DIU has been playing strong role against militancy and terrorism and associating government and law enforcing agencies to prevent militancy and will also extend cooperation to do everything in coming days.
