UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh National Football team will play their home match of the FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers against upper ranked Jordan on Tuesday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
Private Satellite TV Channel 9 will telecast the match live from country’s premier sports venue from 5pm.
It will be the first meeting between the two teams in the international football where Bangladesh ranked 173rd and Jordan 91st in FIFA World ranking.
In a pre-match press conference at the BFF House on Monday afternoon, Head Coach of Jordan Paul Put said they want to prove their worth in the field.
Head Coach of Bangladesh team Lodewijk De Kruif said their team want to play a good football with more attacking flair against their giant Arabian rivals.
He also said they want to show the improvement in the match. “Against Australia in Perth, we were disorganised in the first quarter of the match, but later we settled down and we want to start from there.”
“Australia were a wonderful team and that was a big experience for our booters. Jordan is not far behind Australia…. they are also a god team who have played the World Cup playoff against Uruguay. We want to play a good brand of football with more attacking flair that we have played against Australia.” Lodewijk de Kruif further said.
Paul Put, the Belgian coach of Jordan, wants to prove his superiority in the field. “Yes, we are ranked higher than Bangladesh, but it is not the end of the story. In football, your ranking goes through ups and downs and it is the field where you can win. We have prepared ourselves for this match and we want to win, though the climate and the weather is a concern to us.”
Captain of Jordan team Ahmad AM Nawwas, Bangladesh captain Mamunul Islam, BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy and BFF general secretary Abu Nayem Shohag also spoke on the occasion.
The Jordan National Football Team and Bangladesh football team made their practice at the match venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
On Sunday, both the teams made their practice at the Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club ground.
The BFF has announced the rate of ticket for the match with gallery ticket at Tk 50 and VIP ticket at Tk 100 each.
