Sports Reporter :
Bangladesh will take on visiting Pakistan in their third and last Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The match will start at 2.00pm. State-owned television BTV, private satellite channel GTV and private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the venue.
In the meantime Bangladesh lost to Pakistan by four wickets in the first T20I on November 19, and by eight wickets in the second T20I on November 20 at Mirpur.
Thus, Pakistan already clinched the T20I series. If Pakistan win today’s match, they will have a clean sweep against the hosts.
On the other hand, Bangladesh have to win today’s match as it is a prestige-concern clash for them.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mahmudullah Riyad said, ” We could not execute our plan in the last five overs. I think our cricketers do well in the practice session, but cannot display their determination in the competitive matches. We need to overcome this deficiency if we want to win in any international match at home and abroad.
He said, ” Our bowlers do well last five-six months. The pacers and spinners perform same rhythm. But our batter could not do well.”
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included youngster batter Parvez Hossain and promising bowler Kamrul Islam Rabbi in Bangladesh T20I squad. Both of them are yet to debut.
Bangladesh: Mohammad Naim, Parvez Hossain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain, Mahmudullah (Captain),
Nurul Hasan (wicketkeeper), Mahedi Hasan, Aminul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Shoriful Islam/Mustafizur Rahman.
Pakistan: Mohammad Rizwan (Wicketkeeper), Babar Azam (Captain), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Shoaib Malik, Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Haris Rauf.
