Bangladesh, Nepal do-or-die match in SAFF Champ today

Bangladesh Football team will take on Nepal in their do-or-die match of the SAFF Championship at the National Football Stadium in Maldives today. The match will kick-off at 5.00pm (BST). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh faced Nepal in the 22 occasions. Of them, Bangladesh won 13 times, while Nepal won seven matches and rest of the two matches ended in draws.
Bangladesh collected four points from three matches, while Nepal bagged six points from as many matches.
If Bangladesh win the today’s match, Bangladesh will get the ticket of the final of the SAFF Championship.
On the other hand, If Nepal make a draw with Bangladesh, Nepal will enter the final. So, Bangladesh will meet Nepal in must-win match today.
Bangladesh last played against Nepal at Kathmandu in the Three Nations Cup on March 29, 2021. Bangladesh lost to Nepal by 2-1 goals in that match.
Bangladesh faced Nepal in their group match of the SAFF Championship at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on September 8, 2018. Bangladesh tasted a 2-0 defeat to Nepal in that match and Bangladesh failed to reach the semi-finals.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start beating Sri Lanka by a solitary goal in their first match on October 1. Then 10-man Bangladesh made a 1-1 draw with favourites India in their second match on October 4. Later, Bangladesh lost to Maldives by two goals to nil in their third match on October 7. Players of Bangladesh did not get rest before their Maldives match. It was one of the reason for their defeat to Maldives. After getting five day’s rest Bangladesh will face Nepal. So, the football lovers of the country want to watch a heroic fight against Nepal. Captain of Bangladesh team Jamal Bhuiyan said, ” We forgot the Maldives match. The final is beckoning us. We want to reach the final after beating Nepal.”
Nepal beat Maldives by a solitary goal in their first match on October 1. Nepal defeated Sri Lanka by 3-2 goals in their second match on October 4.
Later, Nepal conceded a 0-1 goals defeat to India on October 10.
Meanwhile, India will face Maldives in their last match at the same venue on the same day. The match will begin at 10.00pm. India have to win today’s match, if they want to enter the final.
On the other hand, Maldives need just a draw to cruise into the final.
