Bangladesh Navy became champions in the Bangabandhu Victory Day Basketball Tournament defeating Bangladesh Army by 77-40 points in the final at Dhanmondi Basketball Gymnasium on Friday. Bangladesh Army finished runners-up in the basketball meet.
After the final match, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest. A large number of officials of Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Army and Bangladesh Air Force were present on the concluding day of the basketball tournament.
A total of six teams splitting into two groups were taking part in the basketball competition.
Bangladesh Navy stormed into the final drubbing Dhumketu Club by 94-46 points in the first semi-final at the same venue on Wednesday last.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Army moved into the final defeating Josephites Club by 87-52 points in the second semi-final at the same venue on the same day.
Bangladesh Basketball Federation arranged the basketball competition.
