Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team begins practice

Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team began their practice on Tuesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS). Bangladesh Women’s team started their practice marking the upcoming ICC Twenty20 Cricket World Cup scheduled to be held in India.
A number of 17 female cricketers took part on the first day of the coaching camp. They reported to Sri Lankan coach Champika Gamage.
Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) called 23 female cricketers for conditioning camp. Six cricketers including Salma Khatun, Rumana Ahmed and Shuktara Rahman were not present on the first day of the coaching camp.
The Tigress played football and took part in the practice at the Gymnasium of the SBNCS. They will do those kinds of practice for forthcoming nine days. After that, they will be batting, bowling and fielding as part of their practice. The Tigress will play three practice matches.
Ace cricketer Jahanara Alam said to the newsmen on Tuesday, ” Our target is to perform well in the World Cup. We are taking part in the practice to fulfill that target.”
Bangladesh National Women’s Cricket team qualified for the World Cup after becoming runners-up in the qualifying round held in Thailand recently.
Bangladesh, India, England, West Indies and Pakistan will participate in the group stage of the final round of World Cup Cricket.
Bangladesh will take on India on March 15, face England on March 17, meet West Indies on March 20 and face Pakistan on March 24.
