Bangladesh has moved four steps forward from 34th slot to 30th place Hockey World Ranking following their recent outstanding performances in the Hockey World Leagues and Continental Cup.
Bangladesh finished 6th in the last month’s eight-nation Hero Asia Cup Men’s Hockey in Dhaka and earned the right to play directly in the next Asia Cup and Asian Games Hockey.
The World Hockey Ranking are finalized considering the performances of the countries in the Hockey World Leagues, Olympic Games, World Cup Hockey and Continental Cup from 2014 to 2017.
India finished 6th in the world ranking after Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany and top among the Asian country, followed by Malaysia (12th), Pakistan (13th), South Korea (14th), Japan (16th), China (17th), Bangladesh (30th), Oman (32nd), Sri Lanka (38th) Hong Kong (45th ) and Chinese Taipei (52nd).
