Asiad Kabaddi: Bangladesh men lose to Thailand 36-37 points

Bangladesh men’s kabaddi team completed their 17th Asian Games engagements on frustrating note losing to lowly Thailand by 36-37 points in the last group match at the Songdo Global University Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea on Wednesday.
After the day’s debacle, Bangladesh were eliminated from the meet losing all the three group matches against India, Pakistan and Thailand.
In the day’s match, Bangladesh team dominated the first half 21-16, but conceded a surprising defeat scoring 15 points against 21 of Thailand in the 2nd half.
Injury-grabbed Bangladesh captain Ziaur Rahman did not play in the day’s last group match.
Meanwhile, the semifinals of both men’s and women’s kabaddi will be held on Thursday.
In the men’s semifinals, the six-time champions India will play hosts South Korea while Pakistan will face Iran.
In the women’s semifinal, Bangladesh women’s team will play Iran while India will meet Thailand.
