The first Bangladesh Junior Open Golf’ 2014, organised by Bangladesh Golf Federation, began Tuesday at the Kurmitola Golf Course in the capital.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Syed Shahed Reza inaugurated the three-day meet in the morning.
Tournament Organizing Committee chairman Maj Gen M Masud Razzak, Golf Federation secretary general Brig Gen Abul Fazal Mohammad Sanaullah and Golf Federation joint secretary Col (retd) Sardar Hasan Kabir were present.
A total of 93 junior golfers — 86 boys and seven girls — from 12 golf clubs of the country are competing in three age groups — Under 16, Under-18 and Under-21.
Quarter Master General of Bangladesh Army Lt Gen Anwar Hossain will be the chief guest at the closing function on Thursday afternoon and will distribute the prizes.
