Bangladesh hold Thailand 1-1

Bangladesh played out 1-1 draw against Thailand in the men’s football of the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia in the Group B match at the Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong on Thursday.
After the barren first half, Bangladesh took the lead with forward Mahbubur Rahman scoring in the 52nd minute by placing the right footed from inside the six-yard box, 1-0.
Defender Bishwanath Ghosh throw-in from the left side, defender Tutul Hossain Badsha connected the ball with a header, the miscued header fell onto Mahbubur feet to place the ball home.
Thai forward Chaided Supachai leveled the margin by a left footed shot from just top of the six-yard box in the 80th minute, 1-1. In their remaining group match, Bangladesh will play giant Qatar (FIFA world ranking 98) on August 19 at Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium in Bekasi.
Bangladesh made a frustrating start in the 45-nation meet conceding a 0-3 goals defeat against upper ranked Uzbekistan (FIFA World ranking 95) in the opening Group B match at the same venue on Tuesday.
