Bangladesh Hockey team to leave for Indonesia tomorrow

Bangladesh Hockey team will leave the city tomorrow for Indonesia to take part in AHF Cup Hockey qualifiers, which is scheduled to be held in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia from March 11 to March 20. Bangladesh have been billed in Group-B with hosts Indonesia, Iran, Oman and Singapore. Three teams will qualify for the Asia Cup Hockey. Defending champions of this qualifiers, Bangladesh Hockey team took a good preparation under the Malaysia-born Head Coach Iman Gobinathan Krishnamurthy at the BKSP ground.
Iman Gobinathan Krishnamurthy said, ” My first target is to qualify for the Asian Cup Hockey. We have to qualify for the prestigious hockey meet of Asia. We shall try to retain our championship.”
Sarwar Hossain is the Captain of the squad, while goalkeeper Abu Sayeed Nippon will assist him as Vice-Captain.
The jersey-unveiling programme and official photo session will be held today at the Falcon Hall of Bangladesh Air Force in Dhaka Cantonment. Bangladesh will face hosts Indonesia on March 11, take on Oman in March 14, play against Iran on March 15 and meet Singapore on March 17.
