Bangladesh handball teams return home today

Bangladesh men’s and women’s handball teams return from Pakistan today (Tuesday) after participating in the five-day International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy that concluded in Faisalabad on Sunday.
Bangladesh Women’s Handball team emerged unbeaten champions in the six-nation IHF Challenge Trophy while Bangladesh men’s team finished 4th in the seven-nation competition.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association Syed Shahed Reza, NSC secretary Shibnath Roy, NSC director (sports) Narayan Chandra Devnath and President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul will be present at the airport to receive the handball teams.
Seven national teams of Asian countries — Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Maldives and Yemen — participated in the men’s group while six countries — Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Yemen — took part in the women’s group.
Earlier, 36 members of men’s and women’s teams, including 28 players and eight officials, left Dhaka for Pakistan on December 1 to participate in the IHF Challenge Trophy, organised by Pakistan Handball Federation.
