Bangladesh Football team will leave Dhaka for Qatar today to play the rest of the Group-E matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Doha, the capital city of Qatar.
The Red-and-Green outfit were scheduled to play some practice matches against the team’s of Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh team were scheduled to arrive in Saudi Arabia on May 24. But the Bangladesh team’s Saudi Arabia campaign was cancelled due to complications of quarantine. Before leaving the country, Bangladesh team played a practice match against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Bangladesh Football team were scheduled to arrive at Doha on May 30. But the team will reach Qatar today to adapt with the condition of Qatar.
Chairman of the National Team Management Committee Kazi Nabil Ahmed said, ” Bangladesh team will arrive in Doha today. After that the members of Bangladesh team will undergo Covid-19 test. If they become negative for coronavirus test the players will take part in their practice sessions.”
Bangladesh played five Group-E matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against their stronger opponent teams. Bangladesh made a 1-1 draw with India at Kolkata, the former capital of India.
Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan on June 3, will meet India on June 7 and will face Oman on June 15.
