Bangladesh Football team arrived at Qatar to play their away match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2022 and AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers 2023 against their stronger opponent Qatar at Doha, the capital city of Qatar on Thursday. Bangladesh will play the Qualifiers against Qatar on December 4.
After arrival of Bangladesh team the members of Bangladesh team underwent Covid-19 Test. Manager of Bangladesh team has tested positive for coronavirus and physiotherapist of the team Fuad Hasan also has tested positive of Covid-19 test. The players and the other officials have tested negative for coronavirus. The report of coronavirus got on Friday.
Earlier, player SM Monjurul Rahman tested positive for the virus following tests on Wednesday last in Dhaka. Besides, Bangladesh’s key player Nabib Newaz Ziban could not go to Qatar with the team due to knee injury.
The footballers of Bangladesh are supposed to have a 72-hour quarantine at Hotel before getting the opportunity to have outdoor training.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh played two matches against Nepal in the ‘Mujib Borsho’ FIFA International Football Series at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on November 13 and November 17.
During the second match against Nepal on Tuesday, Ziban had a contact with the opponent goalkeeper that he initially thought as nothing serious and continued playing but after finishing the game he felt pain.
The MRI report next day came out in the night and shocked the versatile forward. He will miss the tough Qatar game on December 4.
Head coach Jamie Day is also left isolated in Dhaka after he was tested Covid-19 positive prior to second FIFA friendly against Nepal. The English tactician is awaiting quick recovery to join the team abroad soon.
