Bangladesh face Singapore in AHF Cup Hockey today

Bangladesh Hockey team will face Singapore Hockey team in their second match of the AHF Cup Hockey Tournament at Jakarata, the capital city of Indonesia today. Earlier, reigning champions Bangladesh made an auspicious start thrashing hosts Indonesia by 7-2 goals in the opening match at the same venue on March 11.
The players of Bangladesh are now in a festive mood as they made a good start in their opening match of this hockey meet. According to the latest ranking, Bangladesh have taken the 38th position, while Singapore have achieved the 35th position.
Captain of Bangladesh Hockey team Sarwar Hossain said, ” We shall try to show our as usual performance. We shall not give any opportunity to our opponents. We want to leave the field after earning a victory.”
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh had a 7-0 lead in the first match against Indonesia. Later, the red-and-green outfit conceded two goals.
Sarawar Hossain said, ” We had a 7-0 lead in the first match. After that, Indonesia scored two goals. It is possible. It is called hockey. But we shall not give any chance to our opponents in the next match. We want to create opportunities and then, execute those chances.”
Bangladesh, Indonesia, Singapore, Iran and Oman in Group-B.
Bangladesh will take on Iran on March 15, while Bangladesh will play against Oman on March 17.
Top three teams will play in the Asia Cup Hockey. India, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia will directly play in the Asia Cup Hockey.
