Bangladesh face NZ in 2nd T20I today

After crushing New Zealand by seven wickets in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match on Wednesday, highly spirited hosts Bangladesh Cricket team captained by experienced Mahmudullah Riyad will face the Kiwis, led by wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Latham in the second T20I at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the city’s Mirpur today. The match will begin at 4.00pm (BST). Private satellite channel GTV and private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the arena.
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance in the first T20I against the Black Caps. After getting the Man of the Match award, Shakib said, ” The most important thing is we have won the match. The win will boost up for the upcoming ICC World Cup T20.”


The ace all-rounder said, ” We had won a good number of ODI matches before we played well in the ICC World Cup 2007. I think our confidence will bring us to a good position and will inspire us to do good in the ensuing ICC World Cup T20.”
He said, ” It is a good feelings for us to win the first match of the five-match T20I series. We won against New Zealand for the first time. The victory against New Zealand will inspire us and will give confidence to win in the rest of the matches.”
Meanwhile, promising opener of New Zealand Finn Allen has returned to the bio-secure bubble environment in the InterContinental Dhaka and the Home of Cricket after becoming negative for the coronavirus test. If Allen can take part in the second T20I against the Tigers today, the Black Caps will be heavily boost up for the tourists, which team were shot out for just 60 in the first T20I match on Wednesday.
Left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel of New Zealand said, “We have got lot of learning from the first match. We have understood from the first match as quick as we can and we shall try to do better in the next match. We discussed about our fault and weakness in the first game and we get the cause of our bitter experience on Wednesday. We shall try to execute our plans and go forward in the next match.”
