Bangladesh exit from SAFF U-15 Championship race

Defending champions Bangladesh’s hope of play in final of the SAFF U-15 Championship vanished into blue as they suffered a 2-4 goal defeat to host Nepal in the semi-final held on Friday at ANFA ground in Kathmandu.
The host side dominated entire the first half and took a 2-0 goals lead at the breather.
Nepalese striker Aakash Budha Magar gave his side an early lead in the 25th minute (1-0) and again doubled the margin in the 30th minute of the match (2-0).
After the resumption, the host side took 3-0 leads from a suicidal goal by Nazmul Biswas in the 64th minute. Nazmul in a bid to clear the ball off a cross from Karlos Bakariya scored in won post (3-0).
Bangladesh, however, fought back strongly in the remaining proceeding reducing the goal margin courtesy of Faisal’s two back to back goals.
Faisal pulled one back for Bangladesh in the 72nd minute from brilliant free kick from the right edge of the box that found the back of the net (1-3) and again reduced the margin scoring the second goal for Bangladesh with a tap from a handshake distance (2-3).
However, Nepalese Bijesh Chowdhury sealed the victory for his team in the extra 6th minutes of the second half (4-2).
Bangladesh will play against Bhutan in the third place-deciding match scheduled to be held on Sunday at Halchowk Stadium at 2 pm (local time).
