Bangladesh emerge joint champions in International Blind Cricket

Bangladesh Blind Cricket team emerged joint champions in the Tri-Bangla Friendship International Blind Cricket Tournament with South Bengal Blind team as the final match between two teams could not held on Wednesday at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata due to heavy rain.
Later, the tournament organiser declared both the teams joint champions as match umpires abandoned the match without a single ball bowled. Bangladesh team reached the final beating North Bengal team by 23 runs.
Shahadat Hossain of Bangladesh was named as the best batsman in B-1 category while Khorshed Alam of Bangladesh was adjudged the best fielder in B-2 category.
Famed cricketer cum former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was present at the match to encourage the blind cricketers.
Youth Welfare Minister of West Bengal Arup Biswas was the chief guest in the final and he distributed the trophy.
