Women's World T20: Bangladesh eliminated losing to Lanka by 25 runs

Asian Cup champions Bangladesh suffered the 3rd consecutive defeat to eliminate from the ICC Women’s World T20 losing to their South Asian rivals Sri Lanka by 25 runs in the 3rd match at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia on Thursday.
After the day’s frustrating defeat, touring Bangladesh remained at the bottom of the five-team Group A with empty hand following their seven-wicket losses against England in a rain-interrupted 2nd match and a humiliating 60-run defeat against hosts West Indies in the first match.
Bangladesh women’s team, which regained confidence in 2018 after passing a frustrating 2017, clinching the their maiden Asian Cup crown with unbeaten record shocking their giant South Asian rivals India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and emerged champions in World T20 Qualifiers, came down to earth losing to Pakistan 0-3 in home series, also failed to recover lapses in the ongoing T20 World meet.
Hosts West Indies topped the Group A list securing four points from straight two matches, England followed the leader neck and neck collecting three points from two outings, Sri Lanka and South Africa were also in the semifinal race with three and two points, playing two and three matches respectively.
Bangladesh invited the Islanders to bat first after winning the toss and restricted them for a chase able score of 97 for 7 in stipulated 20 overs featuring 31 runs from former captain cum all rounder Shashikala Siriwardene.
