Bangladesh clinch another bronze

Bangladesh clinched another bronze medal in the ISSF Grand Prix on Tuesday. Shovon Chowdhury, Rabbi Hasan Munna and Yousuf Ali bagged bronze medal in the men’s 50 metre Air Rifle Team event of shooting competition at Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. The scored together 17 points. Hosts Indonesia bagged gold in this event, while Thailand captured silver.
Earlier, Bangladesh bagged a silver medal when the men’s 10m Air Rifle team finished behind Singapore in the gold-medal decider at the ISSF Grand Prix tournament at the same venue. Bangladesh comprising Rabbi Hasan Munna, Mohammad Ali and Shovon Chowdhury could tally up to 14 points against Singapore’s 16 in the final match and had to remain content with a silver medal despite having qualified for the final as the top team with 622.8 score. Before the semi-final match, Bangladesh Rifle team had also finished top with 930 scores but they could not keep the momentum intact during the final hurdle.
Nafisa Tabassum from Bangladesh bagged her second bronze in the mixed team event of 10 metre Air Rifle Shooting in ISSF Grand Prix which was held at the same venue.
Nafisa Tabassum and Yousuf Ali duo gained success for Bangladesh scoring together 47 points. Earlier,
Hosts Indonesia captured gold medal in the mixed team event of 10 metre Air Rifle.
Laura from Romania bagged the gold medal in this event scoring 49 points, while Khairunnesa from Indonesia earned silver medal in this event scoring 45.5 points. Nafisa scored 37 points.
Bangladeshi shooters will return home on February 17.
