Bangladesh captured six gold medals in the different events of Archery Competition of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) at Pokhara Stadium in Nepal on Sunday.
Ruman Sana, Tanjamul Islam and Hakim Ahmed of Bangladesh beat Kavisha Delpatadu, Sajeeb De Silva, Kumar Herath of Sri Lanka in the final of the men’s recurve team event to clinch gold medal.
Earlier, Bangladesh defeated Nepal 6-0 in the semi-final.
It was the eighth gold medal for Bangladesh in the SAG 2019.
Eti Khatun, Mehnaz Akter Monira, Beauty Roy of Bangladesh overcame Thisari Madushika Silva, Rehana Tayabally, Malsha Dilhani of Sri Lanka in the final of the women’s recurve team event to bag gold medal. It was ninth gold for Bangladesh.
Ruman Sana and Eti Khatun of Bangladesh eased past Sonam Dema and Kinley Tshering of Bhutan in the final of the recurve mixed team event to grab gold medal. It was Bangladesh’s 10th gold medal.
Bangladesh men’s team earned gold in the men’s compound event defeating Bhutan in the final. It was Bangladesh’s 11th gold medal.
Bangladesh women’s team earned gold in the compound event beating Sri Lanka women’s team in the final. It was 12th gold for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh won sixth gold in the mixed compound event beating Bhutan in the final. It was 13th gold for Red-and-Green outfit.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh women’s cricket team bagged gold medal in the Cricket Competition beating Sri Lanka by two runs in the final on the same day. It was 14th gold medal for Bangladesh.
