Bangladesh Army became unbeaten champions in the 7th First Security Islami Bank National Rugby Competition earning maximum six points in ‘Super Three’ phase at the Paltan Maidan on Wednesday. Chittagong District team emerged as the runners-up of the meet begging three points.
Army defeated Faridpur District team by 60-0 points and beat Chittagong District team by 80-0 points.
On the other hand, Chittagong District team beat Faridpur District team by 14-0 points.
After the concluding match, State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest, while Deputy Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Limited Abdul Aziz was with him as the special guest. President of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Abdullah Al Jahir Shapan, Vice-President of BRU Anisuzzaman, General Secretary of BRU Mousum Ali, Joint-Secretary of BRU Sayeed Ahmed, Members of the Union Sirajul Islam, Din Islam and Parvin Putul were present at the time.
