Bangladesh achieves 10 awards in WCIT

Bangladesh has exuberant achievements in the World Congress on Information Technology 2017 (WCIT 2017), ASOCIO ICT Summit 2017 and AFACT’s Plenary Meeting held in Taiwan on 10-13 September, says a press release.
 Ten world prestigious awards have been bagged by few Bangladeshi public & private sectors’ organizations and companies. This is the highest number of awards achieved ever by Bangladesh in the information and communication technology sector.
World premier ICT association World Information Technology & Services Alliance (WITSA), Asia & Pacific geo-apex ICT organization Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) and Asia-Pacific Council for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (AFACT) given-awards have been conferred in the events to the following Bangladeshi organizations and companies in various categories: WITSA Global ICT Excellence Awards 2017- Merit Winners: Bangladesh Post Office – ‘Mobile Excellence Award’; Daffodil International University – ‘Sustainable Growth Award’ and Aamra Networks Limited – ‘Private Sector Excellence Award’.
ASOCIO Awards 2017 Winners: Bangladesh Post Office – ‘Digital Government Award’; Aamra Holdings Limited – WE Smart Solutions – ‘Outstanding ICT Company Award’; Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) – ‘ICT Education Award’ and Basis Institute of Technology and Management (BITM) – ‘ICT Education Award’;
e-Asia 2017 Awards Winners: Fiber @ Home Limited (Info Sarkar Project) – ‘ Creating Inclusive Digital Opportunity Award’; Business Automation Limited (Hajj Management Information System Project) – ‘Open Digital Government Award’ and Bangladesh Post Office (Postal Cash Card: Banking to the Unbanked People Project) – ‘Trade Facilitation and E-Commerce Award’.
The winners have been coroneted with the awards in presence of the Prime Minister of Taiwan William Lai and the WITSA Chairman Yvonne Chiu on the concluding day, today (13 September 2017) of the world’s ICT events organized at Taipei International Conference Centre (TICC).
Worth mentioning that Bangladesh Computer Samity has coordinated a 53-member high profile Bangladesh Delegation comprising representatives from public and private sectors attending this year in the world premier events of ICT and expansion & facilitation of e-trade that have taken place in Taiwan.
