Bangladesh 21-41 Society, a non-profitable and non-political organisation, was formally launched on Monday to help the country achieve its development milestones over the next two and half decades.
“We just want to do work for the country and its people. We will do everything to ensure five basic needs of our people through various activities like awareness building. As our country is marching towards a peaceful, prosperous and developed society after graduating from LDC to developing group, we will work to overcome the challenges,” saidMustafa Kamal Mohiuddin, Chairman, Bangladesh 21-41 Society, at a crowded press conference at the National Press Club in the city on Monday.
Mohiuddin, also the Chairman of BDG-Magura Group, said, they can contribute to overall country’s development, including poverty alleviation, employment generation and women empowerment.
He said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to build Bangladesh as a hunger and poverty-free nation by 2021 and a developed one by 2041.
“But braving all sorts of odds it is not possible for the government alone to fulfill the cherished dream. All professionals including members of civil society, intellectuals, socio-cultural activists, industrialists, teachers, students, blacksmiths and potters will have to come forward to complete this big task,” Mohiuddin, also the Chairman, Board of Editors, Bangladesh News and Entertainment Limited (BNEL), said.  
He said as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to materialize Bangabandhu’s dream of transforming the country into ‘Sonar-Bangla, the organisation will also want to work in various sector to cooperate with the government.
“We, the Bangladeshi people are now working relentlessly to build a poverty and hunger-free ‘Sonar Bangla’, dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. We have to turn the country into a middle income one by 2021 and alleviate poverty by 2041,” he said.
He said imbued with the spirit of liberation war, the organisation Bangladesh 21-41 Society has been launched.
“Under the banner of Bangladesh 21-41 Society, we want to bring all patriots, and progressive people imbued with the spirit of liberation war on specific platform. And we also want to unite people like in 1971,” he said.
Mohiuddin said, Bangladesh 21-41 Society has already taken up various plans on contributing to the development of the country and its people.
“We want to build up awareness among the people in order to give befitting respect and honour to our Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, our national flag and national anthem,” he said.
Besides, he said, they will also wage an effective movement to establish a non-communal and progressive society.
Apart from these, Bangladesh 21-41 Society also wants to make Bangladesh a beautiful and liveable country for the future the generation.
Azizul Islam Bhuiyan, Editor of Bangladesh News and Acting Editor of Bangladesher Khabor, Atahar Hossain Khan, Acting Editor of Din Paribarton, and Sohel Manzur, Executive Editor of Bangladesh News were also present.
