‘Bangamata was a companion of Bangabandhu’s struggle’

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr M Murad Hasan on Monday said Bangabamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib was not only a life partner of Bangabandu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman but she was a companion of Bangabandhu’s struggle.
“Bangabandhu mostly in his 55-years lifetime moved the bangalee nation toward independence amid extreme unfavourable condition …Bangamata was his main courage and patron during the journey of independence movement,” he said .
The state minister made this comment as the chief guest while he was joining to a virtual discussion marking 91st birth anniversary of Bangamata Fazilatunnesa Mujib in the capital on Monday morning.
Referring to Bangamata’s bold and strong attitude during the black night on August 15 in 1975, Dr Murad Hasan said peoples usually try to save his life standing in front of death, but Bangamata didn’t beg for her life.
She had sacrificed her life but giving up love and affection for the people, he told the function arranged by Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance.
Murad said the youths must have to know the dedication for the nation and the country and her role behind the bold decisions which had taken by Bangabandhu in his every moment of struggle.
Chaired by Bangabandhu Cultural Alliance President Rafiqul Islam, the programme was also addressed, among others, by Advocate Balaram Podder, Shah-e Alam Murad, Sheikh Mamun and Arun Sarker.
