Bangabandhu`s PS Badsha passes away

UNB, Dhaka :Aminul Huq Badsha, the press secretary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, died in London on Tuesday.Aminul, the organising secretary of the pre-independence Chhatra League central committee and thefounder president of Kushtia Chhatra League, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Orpington Hospital in London.Badsha, who was one of the key organisers of ‘Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra’, had served jail terms for his involvement in student politics during Ayub Khan’s rule. He was also the director of external publicity wing of Mujibnagar Bangladesh mission.He was made Bangabandhu’s press secretary in 1969.After Bangabandhu’s assassination in 1975, Badsha left Bangladesh for the UK.Badsha also worked as a correspondent of different national dailies in Bangladesh, India and the UK, and for ATN Bangla, UK for a long time.Meanwhile, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at Aminul Huq’s death.In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said Badsha was very close to the Father of the Nation. “Bangladesh has lost a patriotic citizen at Badsha’s death,” she said.
